Krista DeNio
Krista DeNio is a choreographer, director, performer, writer and dance | theater educator, committed to developing new forms of performance work and evolving interdisciplinary thinking and creation between the fields of dance and theater, among others. She also facilitates arts, education and activist organizations, focused on cultural and social innovation, collaboration and social justice initiatives.
She has lived and worked in the Bay Area, California, Colorado, New York City, New Mexico, and Western Massachusetts. Krista is currently a lecturer with U.C. Berkeley’s Theater, Dance and Performance Studies, project director of EchoTheaterSuitcase project, teaches Contact Improvisation throughout the Bay Area, is a member of the International Interdisciplinary Artists Consortium, and an Artist Investigator with The Triangle Lab.
Krista was the Executive & Artistic Director of Earthdance Creative Living Project (2009-2013), where she guided organizational and programmatic vision, designed and curated innovative interdisciplinary programs, and built bridges between artistic training, sustainable living practices, social justice and community engagement work.
